On the 11 May 2023, the Employers’ Association of Indonesia (APINDO) hosted the 47th ASEAN Confederation of Employers (ACE) CEOs and Board of Directors meetings at Hotel Aryaduta Menteng in Jakarta. This is the first in-person meeting held since the Manila meetings in 2019.
During the meeting, members were briefed about the International Labour Organization’s Bureau for Employers (ACTEMP) workplan to support employers’ activities in ASEAN. Members also shared the latest economic and labour situation in their respective countries.
At the end of the meeting, Singapore National Employers Federation’s President Dr Robert Yap took over as ACE President for the term 2023-2025 from APINDO Chairman Mr Hariyadi B Sukamdani.
SNEF, as the ACE Secretariat, hope that the 10 employer and business membership organisations of ACE can better co-operate and represent employers on labour issues at regional and international labour fora to enhance labour market flexibility and foster industrial harmony.
